Workshops
Looking for a more robust experience? Check out the different types of workshops I have offered in the past.
Trauma Informed care
In this training, participants learn how to identify potential mental health issues within the population they serve. This training includes skills for intervention and stabilization while connecting the person in need to resources. This training also covered the basics of Trauma Informed Care and challenged participants to think about how to become more trauma informed in their approach with each other and even in some of their physical spaces.
Building back self-esteem and self-worth
This session focuses on giving participants skills and tools to help in building self-esteem and self-worth after surviving interpersonal trauma.
Self-care from the ancestors
This session presents self-care practices as part of a healing justice framework. The science of stress and its effects on the body are presented. Participants also engage in interactive activities based on a bio-psycho-social spiritual framework so that they can create and maintain a self-care plan. Emphasis is put on common ancestral spiritual practices that can also be mindfulness-based practices. Environmental factors for stress and stress management are also explored.
